Responsibilities
Collect water samples from operations facilities in accordance with industry best practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
Calibration & documentation of Laboratory instruments and online analyzers on daily basis.
Performing laboratory Physical, Chemical & Biological tests to determine the quality of the Seawater, Process Water & Product water.
Conduct jar tests to determine the actual concentration of chemicals required in the process.
Provide recommendations to CRO (Control Room Operator) to maintain the desired dosing rate of chemicals as per the Water quality analysis report.
Regularly monitor and coordinate with CRO (Control Room Operator) to implement the approved modifications to enhance quality, plant operation, and production.
Monitoring the quality of CO2 produced in-house through Monoethanolamine and soda ash analysis.
Analysis of Bulk chemicals upon arrival before offloading (Hypo, Ferric, Caustic, Lime Powder).
Concentration determination on Lime buffer & Prepared CIP Chemicals
Monitoring the performance of DAF (Dissolved Air Floatation) & DMF (Dual Media Filter) backwash on a scheduled basis through analysis.
Chemical preparation for online analyzers & CIP Storage tank.
An active member of CIP (Clean in place).
Follow DoE sampling schedule to third-party Laboratory.
Review the third-party Laboratory analysis report.
Prepare and submission Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Annual reports to the management, Respective Clients, and government monitoring bodies (DoE-Department of Energy).
Follow up with Yearly External Calibration of the instruments.

The Harihar unit houses a facility for the manufacture of both VSF and rayon grade pulp, the basic Raw Material for the VSF. Responsibilities
Step-wise pulp analysis to guide the Chemical Dosing Engineers to produce the pulp of required grade.
Analysis of different chemicals used in the Process of Pulp Production.
Analysis of Raw Water, Filter Water, De-Mineralized Water & Recovery Boiler Water for the parameter like pH, P & M Reading, Hardness, Caustic Alkalinity, Phosphate, Hydrazine, Silica & Total Solids.
Effluent water is analyzed for parameters like COD, BOD, DO, TSS, Oil & Grease, free ammonia. Ammonia Nitrogen, Kjeldahl Nitrogen, Heavy Metals.
Analysis of raw materials like Diesel oil, Furnace Oil, Ferric Alum, HCl, H2SO4, Caustic Lye, Urea, DAP, etc.
Ambient air quality monitoring for parameters like (CO, PM2.5, PM10, NOx, SO2).
Testing samples by following the testing calendar, protocols and specified method to produce accurately.
Performing laboratory investigations under the guidance of H.O.D for any Out of Trend, Out of Specification or Atypical results as per SOP’s to ensure the root cause is identified and remedial action is taken.
