Job Responsibilities:

·         Lead and facilitate HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies, What-If analyses, and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for Saudi Aramco’s upstream and downstream operations, identifying process safety hazards and recommending risk mitigation strategies.

·         Conduct Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) and Bow-Tie analyses for high-risk areas such as refineries, and gas plants to evaluate potential consequences from major accidents (e.g., fires, explosions, toxic releases).

·         Assess and improve safety-critical aspects of new facilities and existing operations, ensuring robust design to mitigate both technical and human factors that could lead to incidents.

·         Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD), fire and gas detection systems, and blowout preventers (BOPs) for offshore facilities.

·         Monitor and verify the functionality of safety relief valves, flare systems, and pressure relief systems to maintain operational safety and regulatory compliance.

·         Ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco’s HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) policies and industry-specific regulations, including local Saudi Arabian standards and international safety frameworks.

·         Stay current with regulatory changes and best practices in process safety, ensuring continuous alignment with both local and global standards.

·         Prepare safety documentation to meet Saudi Aramco’s internal audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting requirements.

·         Lead and manage investigations of process safety incidents, such as equipment failures, chemical spills, and fires, using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify contributing factors and corrective actions.

·         Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) based on findings from incident investigations and audits to minimize recurrence and improve safety performance.

·         Perform regular process safety audits and risk assessments across Saudi Aramco’s oil fields, refineries, and gas processing plants to ensure adherence to HSE regulations and internal safety protocols.

·         Conduct routine safety inspections to ensure that safety equipment is in good working condition and that operations comply with risk mitigation strategies.

·         Develop and review emergency response plans (ERPs) for various scenarios, including oil spills, gas leaks, fires, and toxic gas releases, ensuring that Saudi Aramco’s response protocols meet both local and global best practices.

·         Lead and coordinate emergency response drills, such as oil spill simulations and fire drills, to prepare for real-time crisis management.

·         Ensure emergency shutdown systems (ESD) and fire suppression systems are tested regularly and that personnel are trained to respond effectively to potential incidents.

·         Design, deliver, and oversee safety training programs for Saudi Aramco personnel, focusing on process safety management (PSM), hazard identification (MSDS), SIS operation, and emergency procedures.

·         Process Hazard Analysis (PHA),  Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) Studies,  Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA)

·          Risk Management & Mitigation, OSHA/EPA Compliance & Reporting, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)

·         Promote a safety culture by providing continuous learning opportunities and feedback to both operational and engineering teams.

·         Lead the continuous evaluation of safety systems, recommending enhancements in design and operations to achieve zero-harm and operational excellence.

·         Compile and submit safety and environmental reports for regulatory compliance, ensuring that all safety-related incidents, near misses, and audits are documented and addressed in a timely manner.
