· Currently serving as Lead Project Coordinator for Linde/Equinor’s Eemshaven H2M project in the Netherlands, which is in the Under-FEED stage. This low carbon hydrogen project includes a CO2 capture and storage (CCS) unit, designed to capture and store over 95% of CO2 emissions beneath the seabed offshore Norway. The H2M project is slated to commence production in 2029.

As a Senior Operations Engineer, I have gained extensive experience in operations, troubleshooting, and managing maintenance and shutdown activities for Ammonia/O&U plants. My roles have encompassed Field Operations, DCS In-Charge, Shift Supervisor, and Run Plant Engineer. The plant utilized low-energy Haldor Topsoe technology, offering the flexibility of mixed feed i.e. Natural Gas & Naphtha.
During my tenure, the DCS system underwent an upgrade, integrating Advanced Process Control (APC) technology to enhance energy optimization efforts. Initially designed with a nameplate ammonia production capacity of 1350 MT/day, we successfully augmented this to 2000 MT/day through a Debottlenecking Project in 2008. The Ammonia/O&U plants comprised the following key process units:
AMMONIA PLANT OPERATIONS:
Haldor Topsoe (low energy technology):- Natural Gas Skid, Naphtha Pre De-Sulphuration Unit (NPDU), Adiabatic Pre-reforming, Hydro- desulphurization (Feed Gas Sweetening unit), Fired Heater for feed pre-processing, Side fired Tubular Steam Reforming , Auto Thermal Reforming (ATR), CO shift conversion – MTS & LTS, GV process for CO2 Removal, Methanation, Ammonia Synthesis & Refrigeration , Central compressor house – Synthesis Gas, Process Air & Ammonia Refrigeration Compressor, NG Booster Compressor, Ammonia & Cryogenic Purge Gas Recovery (PGRU) Unit, Process Condensate Stripping & Vapor Absorption Machines for Synthesis Gas cooling.
OFFSITE & UTILITIES UNIT OPERATIONS:
· Captive Power & Steam Generation Plant: Mark-VI, Frame-5 Gas Turbines (2×25 MW) including HRSGs (2×100 TPH). Operation of dual fuel (NG & naphtha) fired Steam Boiler – 120 TPH of HP steam generation.
· Water De-mineralization Process & Raw Water Distribution: 800 M3/Hr. capacity DM plant equipped with anion & cation exchangers, mixed bed units, activated carbon filters & effluent neutralization section.
· Compressed Air Generation & Dehumidification process: Managed two multistage centrifugal air compressors & one double acting reciprocating air compressor along with air dehumidification adsorbers.
· Air Separation Plant (IGGP): Operations of cryogenic nitrogen separation process unit with two cryogenic liquid storage tanks, distribution & loading/ unloading section.
· Effluent Treatment Plant & Waste Oil Recovery Section: Ammonia strippers. Controls of waste lube oil recovery unit & rainwater harvesting pond.
· Ammonia Gas Refrigeration, Storage & Distribution: Handling & Storage of liquid ammonia; (2 X 5000 MT) well equipped with vapor.

· Naphtha Bulk Storage & Handling System: Storage, handling of bulk naphtha storage tanks (3X6300 KL) & distribution system equipped with
submersible barrel pumps including unloading from railway cars.
ADDITIONAL ROLES, ASSIGNMENTS & EXPERTISE:
· Operations Turnaround Leader (Pit-Stops & TAR): overseeing operations representation for job scoping, planning, scheduling, and execution across all phases. This encompasses scope development, both general and detailed planning and scheduling, pre-work coordination, equipment clearance, shutdown activities, and ensuring smooth return to operations.
· Process Safety Management (SME): certified at Dow/DuPont, with experience in providing expert advice on Process Safety for facility changes and projects. Responsible to prepare for Process Safety reviews for facilities and OPEX/CAPEX projects, coordinating and reviewing Process Safety related Management of Change (MOC) processes and Compliance deferrals. Responsible to maintain comprehensive process safety documentation, including RC/PHA, PSSR, LOPA, LPP, RA, JSA, Relief Design, SSIS, HACD, and CEI/FEI. I had served as a key resource for Process Safety related self-assessments, PSM/EH&S audits, and LOPA re-validations. Additionally, I functioned as the site EH&S task focal point, implementing and providing training/coaching on Compliance Task processes and the Compliance Task Tool (CTT) for day staff and shift crews. I ensured that the Management of Change (MOC) process followed for all changes, including those originating from maintenance work orders and small projects, monitoring progress, and communicating updates regularly, including temporary MOCs to meet all regulatory requirements.
PROJECTS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
· Served as the Operations Project Engineer for the Debottlenecking Project at a Urea Fertilizer complex. This capacity augmentation project involves overseeing fabrication, erection, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and test runs for various major process equipment, including vapor absorption machines (chillers), bulk flow coolers, heat exchangers, compressors, pumps, fired heaters, GRP cooling towers, water demineralization units, and conveyor gantries.
· Assignment as Ops Representative overseeing major mechanical rehabilitation works of the S50 Ammonia Synthesis Converter, focused on re-welding the leaky site weld joint.
· Operations Project Engineer assigned to coordinate with UHDE, India, overseeing major de-commissioning and re-commissioning activities for atmospheric bulk ammonia storage tanks (2X5000 MT).
· Project Engineer responsible for the complete rehabilitation of refractory works at the Primary and Secondary Reformers in the ammonia plant, as well as the service boiler in the Captive Power Plant.
· One year assignment in Total Quality Management (TQM) cell to implement major cost of quality elements and establish a systematic 5S System approach across all departments.
· Involved with the Civil Construction Cell as a Quality Control Engineer, overseeing earth preparation works including the installation of 30,000 stone columns using the Vibro-Flotation method, with columns reaching depths of up to 10 meters. I supervised civil construction activities such as the foundation preparation for heavy-duty rotary and static machines, construction of water-retaining structures for cooling towers, injection grouting works, RCC core cutting, and acid-proof brick lining.
· Collaborated with the EH&S cell as a Unit Facilitator for a project aimed at analyzing the company’s existing safety standards in comparison to OSHA’s HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) and PSM (Process Safety Management) standards, specifically Workplace Safety Standards (29.CFR. 1910).
