Daily and weekly progress reports
 Provide the technical and supervisory support, guidance, mentoring and managing the Sub-Contractor construction team
 Support, promote and champion positive safety culture and ensure all parties are reminded of expectations with regards
to safety being number one priority.
 Carry out weekly EHS inspection audits.
 Monitor permit and safe plan of action compliance.
 Continuously observe and monitor the interface of all construction activities for all disciplines, assist managing contractor
in resolving any interface coordination issues
 Ensure safety requirements of the project are being met by all parties by supporting and encouraging safe work practices.
 Encourage and promote communication and teamwork
 Monitor the daily working plan and review the work accomplished by each craft.
 Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior
to implementation.
 Review of Method Statements, drawings, schedules and other job safety documents.
 Prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures
forecast.
 Monitors manpower, tools and equipment usage on the site
 Monitors the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
 Coordinates activities with other disciplines or areas
 Assist in developing strategies and initiatives to improve managing contractor and contractor performance
 Assess existing contractor interface performance during construction works and helping to develop and improve activity
simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) coordination
 Assist in review and appraisal of method statements and risk assessments for technical content and safety considerations.
 Assist managing contractor with monitoring of the execution of the works, to ensure project quality requirements and
standards are met including monitoring of contractor Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s)
 Input into coordination of interface between Vendor Representatives and Contractor
 Assist in system walkdowns with contractor and client
 Attend daily and weekly coordination meetings
 Assist managing contractor to monitor progress & productivity being reported by contractors.
 Assist AP Construction Manager in developing detailed reporting of assessment of works and contractor performance.
 Maintain history on all activities carried out on instrumentation associated with plant systems ensuring compatible
materials are being used.
 Ensure that all level 3 safety systems are completed in accordance with AP standards and procedures.
 Ensure post validation of a system there are no further changes.
 Ensuring all site installation and modification on instrument cables are recorded on the cable schedule
 Liaise with projects organization to ensure owner’s requirements are met.
 Support DCS staging and field validation with pre-commissioning and controls engineers.
 Provide feedback to design team from actual project experience.
 Report any variations or amendments to the site instrumentation or vendor controls that will impact the schedule directly
to the Pre-commissioning team manager.
 Accountable for the successful preservation and pre-commissioning checks of all analyzer units
 Accountable for the entry and recording of all test and validation activities into the plant completion application
 Work closely alongside the Air Products construction/Commissioning team, and construction/Commissioning contractors
to ensure the achievement of the activities milestone.

Handle of commissioning activities:  Handle of the hot loop test activity of different instruments and valves from site to DCS.  Prepare loop test procedure.  Prepare loop test check sheets  Check F&G system by making alarms.  Handle DCS SAT.  Participate in mechanical completion walk down and provides comment .  Solving commissioning problems.  Check the ESD system.  Handle the tests for BMS.  Review contractors and vendors commissioning procedures.  Review and update the database.  Review of QA/QC dossier.  Proper coordination with other disciplines.  Review of loop folders prepared by the contractor

Coordinate with engineering on constructability and design issues relating to the instrumentation discipline such as
cable and instrument installation, terminations, and calibration.  Responsible for quantity take-off, control, tracking, reporting and forecasting for instrumentation discipline.  Approve field requisitions as delegated by the Project Field Engineer.  Review material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct instrumentation materials.  Coordinate and monitor the interfaces for instrumentation data exchange to support the construction automation
plan and the project controls program requirements at the jobsite.  Coordinate with Field supervision and Subcontractors to plan/support construction schedules.  Plan and recommend instrumentation procedures to be implemented by Field Supervision to ensure construction
operations are within the requirements of engineering, design and specifications.  Work with customers resident engineering and operating personnel to coordinate instrumentation construction
activities.  Coordinate subcontract activities to ensure instrumentation materials, equipment and quality comply with design
plans and specifications.  Implement controls over variables affecting instrumentation installation job progress such as cable routing,
terminations, instrument installation, and loop testing. Also ensure engineering and procurement provide timely
delivery of drawings, materials and equipment and that other corporate programs are fully utilized.  pre-shutdown construction activities (cable pulling, cable tray installation, Junction box/panel installation,
instrument installation) and give orientation to the contractor by applying client standard.  review of technical offer from Yokogawa for system services ( configuration of new tags, hardware supply…ETC).  Instrument construction shutdown activities ( cable termination on Junction box/ panel, downloading of new
graphics in system cabinet, downloading of new configuration for instrument in system cabinet).  Coordination with Quality department for client inspections of instrument construction activities (cable laying, cable
tray installation, instrument installation, termination works, tubing installation, calibration of different type of
instruments…… etc).  loop folders preparation.  loop test and invite concerned department to attend the test and take approval from them.  function test and invite concerned department to attend the test and take approval from them.  MCC ( mechanical completion certificate) meeting/walk through and take approval from concerned parties.  PSSR meeting and invite concerned department to attend the meeting and take approval from them.  follow up of punch clear status.  close out and hand over of projects to operation maintenance departments.

Supervision, guidance and overview of subcontractor(s) to implement the requirements of the subcontract including
all drawings and specifications  Overall planning of the discipline work and coordination with other discipline work in the same area.  Instruct subcontractors to prepare detailed work which are to be reviewed and approved prior to implementation.  Review progress data and possible change requests from subcontractors and submit to the project controls group.  Prepare daily and weekly construction reports as applicable.  Inform discipline manager/superintendent of problems and/or items of concern regarding engineering information.  Coordinate with the QA/QC group for any problems and take corrective actions to ensure that work complies with

termination works, insulation test, calibration of different type of instruments, multiple type of analyzers…… etc).  calibration work of various type of instruments  construction/commissioning/maintenance of fire detection system and HVAC system in building (smoke detector,
gas detector, heat detector….)

Inspect Installation, connection, Insulation resistance and continuity test, OTDR Test (FOC), test record for
instrumentation / telecom cables on drum before installation, cable trench and duct bank before cable pulling, cable
on trench before final backfilling, cable jointing, cable after glanding / termination, cable tray, ladder, and conduits
(pre-cabling/post cabling, MCT multi cable transit, cable tray covers).  Installation of field mounted instruments (installation of all type of instruments transmitters, switch, detector,
valves, miscellaneous instrument, inspection and test record for instrument impulse tubes / hydraulic power supply
and air supply sub headers and signal tubes / analyzer packages), Installation of instrument & telecom junction

 Carry out instrument calibration and installation in laboratory and field (transmitters and switch Pressure, Flow,
Temperature, Level instruments, PCV, PRV, PSV, Control/On-Off Valves, Fire & Gas detectors…etc.  Installation and test record of communication system (Installation of communication system equipment, PA/GA
public address general alarm, CCTV closed circuit television, LAN local area network, Splicing and test of fiber optic
cables.  Accountable for witnessing Calibration, Loop Checking & Functional Tests of Pressure, Flow, Temperature, Level
instruments, PCV, PRV, PSV, Control/On-Off Valves, Fire & Gas detectors…etc.  Issue of Field Design Modification and Field Instructions (FI) to Construction and ensure that all Modified Contract
Engineering Design Sheets are entered on original documents, (Checking all documentation of As-Built Drawings and
Site modifications).  Generate punch list items for the work deviation against standard installation practice.  Competency to issue Non-conformance Reports with respect to electrical and instruments works to sub-contractor
and/or Vendor Personal for rectification and/or back charg

Supervising Pre-commissioning& commissioning activities:  Check the hot loop of different instruments and valves from site to DCS.  Start-up of skid gas heater.  Start-up of different pump (diesel & electric).  Check F&G system by making alarms.  Start-up air compressors for instruments & turbines.  Adjusting all parameters to ensure turbines running.  Solving the turbines trip problems.  Check the ESD system.  Control of parameters during turbines running (gas pressure, temperature and flow, running rate, output of turbine
